In commemoration of the 25th anniversary, we will hold a guided tour for foreigners to further encourage various people to experience the charm of Kitamoto Neputa.
In commemoration of the 25th anniversary, we will hold a guided tour for foreigners to further encourage various people to experience the charm of Kitamoto Neputa.
Kitamoto-Matsuri “Night communal Festival” is the largest annual festival held in November in Kitamoto-city, Saitama prefecture.
Various events will be held during the festival, for instance visitors will enjoy watching performance such as Bon-dances, Yosakoi dance and others during the day, and about 25 floats including Neputa lanterns and Ohayashi (Japanese orchestra) from the evening, on a station road for approximately 800 meters extending from the West Exit of JR Takasaki Line ‘Kitamoto Station’
Notably, “Kitamoto Neputa” which is held from around 6 p.m., about 15 kinds of large and small Neputa lanterns are floating on the street, and as the largest Neputa Festival in Kanto region, many people visit from the city and outside every year.
With 14 volunteer guide members, we are planning the contents of the Neputa tour.

１．Schedule
30th November 2018 14:00-20:30
２．The Venue
JR Takasaki Line, Kitamoto station, a west-side rotary in front of Kitamoto station
３．Eligible person
Foreigners who live in Japan with interest in Japanese culture such as Japanese Festival, Matsuri
（Regardless of your nationality or sex or age）
４．Participation Fee
５００yen（pay the participation fee on the site）
５．Application Period
28th October 2018
６．The number to be admitted
３０ people (We will stop accepting applications once the limit is reached)

We will give you valuable experience such as Neputa musical accompaniment (Neputa-bayashi, taiko experience),
shouldering or pulling Kabuki-themed lantern (Neputa) with Volunteer Guides.
